Muhammad Ali said, “Don’t just count the days, make the days count.” Great advice from “The Greatest” boxer of my generation.
Last year, I retired from 36 years of working in the public sector . The end of my career came not so much by my choice, but as I am accepting it and make my move forward, I am learning to make the days count. Personally, I would like my own second act to be filled with more joy and less stress, seizing the day in a happy way!
It won’t be easy. I will have to focus, learn new skills, and work harder than ever. Through all of this, it is important to believe that there are options and opportunities again. I want to take the time to enjoy my photography, gardening, travel, golfing, biking, taking care of my 90-year-old Mom and volunteering.
I am dedicating My Second Act, Scene One to these next steps. Whether we take them at 30 or 40 or 60+like me. Whether they are right or wrong, I know that I’m going somewhere good.
Collectively, I would like to share these next steps with you through My Second Act, Scene One . Let’s learn together!
