The rough translation means “cafe world” and the Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans caters to a travelers from across the globe. The menu is simple, beignets and cafe au lait or black coffee is the perfect start to a wonderful day in New Orleans. The line may be long, but it is well worth the wait, especially if you like dough fried in hot fat, strong coffee and tons of powdered sugar. In addition to the heart clogging fare, the people watching is world class.
