Why am I here? Where am I Going?

Except for one-act plays, the second act follows the first.  So, let’s just say for me, at 61,  to get here I’ve put a few miles on my life’s odometer.

My journey on the highway of life, like everyones, has taken me over some rough roads and a few amazing by-ways.  I’ve sped down some straight stretches, ventured off the beaten path and has stopped by a great many scenic overlooks.  I have hit a fair share of pot holes and been victim to a speed trap or two, been caught in grid-lock and taken a turn down a dead-end or two.  Somehow my internal GPS has led me here.

Why am I here?

A little over a year ago, I found myself without a job.  After 33 years of working in the same place, I left.  It wasn’t easy to take that step but I did.  I am determined to make the best of what lies ahead.

So, the question becomes “Where am I going?”

There are so many things I would like to do and know I’d be good at and enjoy doing.     One of the greatest joys in all of this  has been to believe I have options and opportunities again.

It won’t be easy.  I will have to focus.  Learn new skills.  Worker harder than ever and enjoy every moment!

I would like to dedicate this site to these next steps. . Whether you take them at 30 or 40 or 60+like me.  Whether they are right or wrong, I’m going somewhere good.

  1. Thank You! You are my first follower and commenter. Please follow along. I’m not sure how long it takes but I do know that I’m am moving forward most days. It has been work to get here. But it is rewarding working on yourself for yourself, if that makes any sense.

  2. I would love to know more about your year since then, what have you learned? What is helping you move forward? What does that look like? I am now fascinated by people like us who have purposely left the familiar, not knowing what was next, just knowing it had to be done. And yes the reward does make absolute sense to me. 🙂

  3. Hey, Deb! I’m between jobs myself and finding my way. Also new to the (personal) blogging scene, so it’s great to find a comrade.

Great start, and a perfect graphic. Keep up the good work 🙂

  4. Love that first line! Isn’t it amazing when you open a new door (like blogging), and find a whole world churning along that you never really knew existed? I like your fresh, humorous, quick writhing style, and look forward to hearing more. No matter our age, we are all in some way on a similar journey.☺

  5. Hi, thanks for passing through my blog!
You are the same age as my mum and I can totally see my mother looking forward to her own Act Two. I hope it can be as fulfilling as yours, or as inspirational! I look forward to sharing the WP journey with you ☺️
